Announcing the
2009 Petroff Piano Competition
WHEN: Saturday, March 7th, 2009
Where: The Steinway Piano Gallery of San Antonio, near the airport.
(Click here to go to Mapquest to get directions!)
Who may enter: Any young pianist in grades 1 thru 12 at the time of the competition.
Competition will require that two pieces are played in a recital-like setting. One of the pieces MUST be from the compositions of Dr. Peter A. Petroff. The other piece will be a contrasting piece in terms of style and composer, but should be of equal technical difficulty.
Click here for the complete entry blank, which must be post-marked no later than February 18, 2009. Please print the form and mail to the address shown. Don't forget your entry fee. PLEASE: do NOT send cash. Checks or money orders are fine, but we can't be responsible for lost mail that contains cash.
If you have difficulty with the link for the entry form, it is possibly due to the fact that your computer does not accept Adobe "portable document format" files. Here is the entry form in a Microsoft Word format that should print as an alternative.
The music is available from the publishers. Samples are included here on a separate page!
The student or the students teacher are free to ask questions directly to Dr. Petroff by e-mail. Sorry...no phone calls accepted. The e-mail links are listed here.
And MOST of Dr. Petroff's compositions are available on CD, performed by professional and very accomplished performers, such as Ms Nina Drath and Ms Pauline Leung-Glickman. You can find the CDs on-line via the CD Baby Record Store.
The recital for the winners of the competition will be Sunday, April 19th, 2009
